What Documents Do Taiwanese Citizens Need for an Egypt eVisa?

To apply for an online visa, you must abide by the Egyptian eVisa requirements.

Taiwanese citizens must have a passport valid for at least 6 months after the arrival date to Egypt.

Additionally, you need to supply:

  • Fully completed Egypt eVisa application online form for Taiwan
  • An email address to receive the visa.
  • A valid payment card for paying the processing fee.

Note that each traveler, including minors, children on their parent’s passports, families, and groups traveling together, must submit an individual eVisa application.

When can Taiwanese nationals apply for an Egypt eVisa?

The normal Egypt online visa from Taiwan processing time is 1-3 days.

As occasional delays may occur, you should apply for an Egypt eVisa as soon as possible and no later than 5 days before traveling.

You can apply for the visa up to 2 natural days before departure. However, we advise you to do so sooner so any processing delays do not affect your trip.

Validity of an Egypt Online Visa for Taiwan

There are two types of Egypt electronic visas for Taiwan: single-entry and multiple-entry visas.

Both Egypt visa types are valid for trips of up to 30 days at a time. A multiple-entry visa allows an unlimited number of visits during the total period of 180 days.

An Egypt eVisa must be used within 90 days of the date of the issue, regardless of its type.

Visiting Egypt as a Taiwanese: Key Advice

After receiving the Egypt eVisa, Taiwanese passport holders must print out the document.

You are required to present it to the immigration officials at the border crossing, along with a valid passport and supporting documentation. This may include, but not be limited to, return or onward tickets and accommodation bookings.

We advise you to have a copy of the eVisa with you at all times during your trip to Egypt from Taiwan.

It is important to keep in mind that an Egypt eVisa authorizes traveling to Egypt, but it is not a permit to enter the country. This right is granted at the sole discretion of immigration officials at the port of entry.

Can Taiwanese Citizens Obtain a Transit Visa for Egypt?

Taiwanese passengers must have a valid transit visa for layovers for over 48 hours. If the layover is between 6 and 48 hours, you can leave the airport transit area and visit the surrounding area without a visa.

For layovers shorter than 6 hours, leaving the transit area is not permitted.

Are Taiwanese Passport Holders Eligible for an Egyptian Visa on Arrival?

Yes. Taiwanese travelers can obtain a visa on arrival at an Egyptian port of entry. This solution is convenient for last-minute travel, however, it may entail queuing in long lines at the border.

Arriving in Egypt from Taiwan with the eVisa

Upon arrival in Egypt, you will need to pass through customs and immigration, where your eVisa and passport will be checked. Afterward, you can collect your luggage and proceed to your chosen destination in Egypt.

Most flights from Taiwan to Egypt will have at least one stopover. Common stopover cities include Dubai (Emirates Airlines), Abu Dhabi (Etihad Airways), Istanbul (Turkish Airlines), and Doha (Qatar Airways).

The shortest flight duration, including transit time, is typically around 16-18 hours. However, this can vary depending on your stopover destination and the length of your layover.
