Can German citizens get an Egyptian visa on arrival?

Types of Egypt eVisa for German Tourists

The first option is a single-entry visa, which allows you to enter Egypt once only. Once inside the country, you can travel freely for a maximum of 30 days. A new visa is required to re-enter the country.

The multiple-entry visa for Egypt allows you to exit and re-enter the country using the same visa. It is valid for 6 months beyond the first entry. Each stay must not exceed 30 days.

Do Germans need a transit visa for Egypt?

German citizens with an onward ticket can transit without a visa for a maximum of 48 hours.

Travelers can leave the airport if the transit time is between 6 and 48 hours. However, you must remain in the airport if the transit time in Egypt is less than 6 hours.

Egypt eVisa Requirements for German Passport Holders

Citizens from Germany applying for the eVisa are required to provide the following:

  • Valid German passport that has at least 6 months validity remaining from the date of entry into Egypt OR a German ID card

Can I travel to Egypt with a German ID card?

German citizens can use their ID card instead of a passport to request an Egyptian visa. The card must be valid for at least 8 months from the date of arrival in Egypt.
